【报告人简介】:

Min Yu is an Assistant Professor in the Teacher Education Division in the College of Education at Wayne State University. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, major in Curriculum and Instruction and minor in Educational Policy Studies. She received both M.A. and B.A. degrees from Beijing Normal University. Her ongoing research focuses on the experiences of migrant/immigrant children and explores how changing social, political, and economic conditions affect schools serving migrant and immigrant families and communities. Her work situates within the fields of curriculum studies and sociology of education, and the line of research she is continuing to pursue is informed by her work in comparative and international studies of education.

She is the author of the book The Politics, Practices, and Possibilities of Migrant Children Schools in Contemporary China (Palgrave Macmillan 2016). Her work also appears in the Journals of Diaspora, Indigenous, and Minority Education, Educational Action Research, Teachers College Record, the forthcoming issues of Review of Research in Education, and Comparative Education Review, as well as chapters in various edited volumes such as International Struggles for Critical Democratic Education (Peter Lang 2012), The Sage Guide to Curriculum in Education (SAGE 2015), The Strong State and Curriculum Reform (Routledge, 2016), and Handbook on Comparative and International Studies in Education (IAP 2016). She has served as one of the program section chairs for Division B - Curriculum Studies of the American Educational Research Association (AERA), and is currently serving as one of the communication officers for Division B.
